Method for testing the firmness of interwoven wires in metal mesh

Cut a mesh block with dimensions of 100mm x 100mm. Place a 100g weight on the diagonal of the square mesh block. Under 1N of gravity, the mesh block diagonal is extended. A range of extension is specified, for example: (154 ~ 167)mm. Mesh blocks whose diagonal length falls between 154mm and 167mm are considered qualified by the test.
We can change the magnitude of the diagonal force on the metal mesh block according to different specifications, and specify the length range of the diagonal line under a fixed tension value.
Testing method: Hang one corner of a square mesh block measuring 100 mm × 100 mm on a wall, and hang a 100 g weight on the diagonal. When hanging the weight, gently suspend it from the corner of the mesh, and when releasing the weight, do so slowly. Measure the length of the diagonal that has been stretched once the weight has come to a rest.
The strength of the woven wire mesh can be expressed by the torsional resistance at the interlacing points. The theoretical torsional resistance can be calculated. The total fluctuation of torsional resistance can be calculated based on the fluctuations in the density of longitude and latitude wires and the bending moment. It is a topic of future research to develop a scientifically sound range of diagonal lengths for a specific specification of woven mesh.
